The Vivat Trust, a registered charity and a national building preservation trust, is opening its doors for Heritage Open Days, established in 1981 to rescue small to medium-sized historic buildings the trust sympathetically converts them for short holiday stays. There are twenty-three historic properties available at the moment.
Vivat Trust is opening several of their properties for the Heritage Open Days on 10th and 11th September 2011.
Vivat director, Laura Norris says “The Heritage Open Days provide an ideal opportunity for the public to access our historic buildings and see the sympathetic restoration works the trust carries out.”
The properties are
- Bolton Percy Gatehouse* – nr York
- Church Brow Cottage - Cumbria
- The Chantry – Dorset
- The Temple & The Summer house – Shropshire
- North Lees Hall* – Derbyshire
- Mill Hill Cottage - Lincolnshire
*Also open on Thu 8th & Fri 9th Sept.
These Vivat’s properties are available the rest of the year to rent as holiday accommodation, the income from which goes towards on-going maintenance costs and funding future projects.
